Bogács Thermal and Spa Bath

In the 1950s, oil exploration drilling took place in the town. By chance, thermal water was found at a depth of 480 meters, and based on this natural resource, the thermal bath was established, welcoming guests with its pools all year round.

The bath area consists of six medicinal water pools, two children’s pools, a tensioned water surface swimming pool, and an indoor pool with a children’s area. The water park with slides provides great entertainment for children, young people, and adults alike, operating alongside the outdoor pools during the summer season. Additionally, there is a playground in the outdoor area.

The thermal water in Bogács effectively promotes the healing of rheumatic, joint, and musculoskeletal diseases. Guests also have the opportunity to experience night bathing. The medicinal and indoor pools are open throughout the year, while the swimming pool and the outdoor children’s pool operate from early spring to early autumn.

Fishing Lake

One of Bogács’ streams, the Szoros Creek, flows at the southern foot of the Bükk Mountains. To prevent the rainwater flowing down from the Bükk Mountains from flooding the town of Bogács, a dam with a reservoir was built along the creek’s path. The resulting lake, covering nearly 20 hectares, provides excellent opportunities for those who enjoy fishing. Rain shelters, resting benches, and outdoor fireplaces have been built on the lakeshore. From the lakeside, you can also enjoy the fantastic panorama of the mountains. The following fish can be caught: carp, grass carp, pike, zander, bleak, and crucian carp. Night fishing is also possible.

Noszvaj Wine Cellar Villages

Noszvaj is located 7 kilometers from Bogács. It is a member of the Eger Wine Region. Noszvaj has several wine cellar rows where you can see traditional and newly built cellars on Szomolyai Road and Jókai Street. The village still preserves many traditions and old crafts, such as wood carving and basket weaving. Every year, houses and streets are beautifully decorated with flowers.

Szomolyai Beehive Rocks

The beehive rocks are extraordinary natural treasures, most of them made of rhyolite tuff formed as a result of volcanic activity, and their shapes were shaped by the effects of the Ice Age. However, humans also left their marks on them, carving niches, windows, presumably for tombs, idols, or beehives. In the nature reserve, we can admire four major sites with 13 beehive rocks. The most spectacular point of our tour is reached on the western side of Vén-hegy, where we find ourselves facing the 117 niches and numerous chambers of the 8 beehive rocks. It is also worth visiting the nearby Cakó-tető, where there is also no shortage of beehive rocks.
